bring forth His work through us. The desire to present the Church
with a call for reformation has been simmering in my spirit for several
years. I wanted to challenge the Church to make a commitment to ref-
ormation that would result in action. Then two years ago, in January
2008, I attended a conference in Dallas where I heard my friend, the
apostle Jim Hodges, quote from a document called “The Reformer’s
Creed,” written by Dana Sleger. Suddenly everything came together!
A creed is a statement that we bind ourselves to live by. Over the next
few months, the Lord showed me ten areas that we must commit to if
we want true reformation to take hold of us. The ten areas became the
ten pledges that are the backbone of
The Reformer’s Pledge,
which is an
invitation to bind ourselves to God’s reformation process.
I want to first thank Don Milam and Destiny Image Publications
for believing in me and in this project. I want to thank each of the
contributing authors for giving so much of their busy time and for
sharing their life experience with reformation in this book. They are
some of the most committed reformers I know. I also want to thank
Linda Radford, my editor. She is simply amazing and has given hours
of her time for this project. She is a devoted servant of Christ, and I
am deeply grateful for her labor of love.
