FT-992 REPEATER TONE DECODE
Hello friends, did you ever hear of a repeater that uses CTCSS for
access and did not manage to excite him because you did not know them?
I think so, no problem going into the menu and the radio he is made to
scan until it finds the tone used.
Here begins the problem inherent in the menu the tone of our FT-991
displays the "dec" but both the Italian and the original manual in
English there is no description of how to perform a scan to search for a
possible tone used, strange! they do by some portable low price radio
but not the 991, or at least automatically.
I am working on it and I found an easy way to do by hand, do this:
Tune to a repeater that uses CTCSS in VHF or UHF,
press the "F m.list" and go to the menu of CTCSS as shown:
And touch the words "TONE / DCS" until next to the word "CLAR" appears
"DEC", the radio will mute; then press "FWD" and go to the next menu
And press "TONE"; you should see the first of the tones 77, now turn the
knob "MULTI" sliding tones in sequence from 77 to climb, when you reach
the
tone
used,
the
audio
reception
will
open,
so the tone is what you see in the box.
Remember! then in the previous menu assign the selection to "ENC"
otherwise if you go on other frequencies, even if it is not a repeater,
who
do
not
use
that
tone
the
radio
remains
mute.
